Choosing the right speargun is very important to make your spearfishing expeditions into a success. With the wrong kind of speargun, your task becomes that much harder and more often than not, you end up missing your aim.
There are a whole lot of spearguns available in the market today and not just for a beginner, but even fore someone who’s been spearfishing for a while, the task of choosing the right can become rather confusing.
In such a case, you can’t do much better than going for a quality rubber sling powered speargun and today we will take a look at the excellent Cressi Comanche Speargun.
Cressi Comanche Speargun
This speargun, popular as the 2004 world champion among all spearguns, is made with special aluminum tubes that are not only difficult to bend but are anti corrosion as well. Even on the longer models, you will rarely see any bending whatsoever.
The bands are extra reactive to provide for extra speed and power and their positioning can be customized to your style by using the compact hydrodynamic point. This unique design allows for harder thrusts, precise aiming and perfect target visibility.
The bands load quickly and are 16mm in diameter with a articulated wishbone at the helm. In case you need more power, then you can easily substitute them with 18mm S45 bands or 20 mm G20 bands. You also have the option of adding an extra band for additional power.
The gun is also equipped with a butt extension that allows for easier loading of the bands and you can simply nook it against your chest or your thigh to effortlessly load the band.
The handgrip of the gun is angled and allows for a greater amount of accuracy. The efficiently designed muzzle also helps a great deal with this as it perfectly aligns the shaft in its place.
The gun has 11 feet of line out of the box and it is fully opened whether you use it on notch 1 or 2. For bigger fish you’d want to use the second notch as it provides for more power.
The shaft that comes with a gun is sturdy enough to kill small to big sized fishes and unless you are hunting for a heavy fish, you will not find the need to buy a replacement shaft.
In case you do want to replace the shaft then you must remember that the shaft needs to be about 40cm longer than your gun’s length for optimal performance. The shaft release system itself is very gentle and does not exert excessive force.
The shafts are available in 3 varieties- 6mm stainless steel, 6.5mm stainless steel and 7mm threaded.
The gun is very well constructed and designed smartly as well. Most of all the Cressi Comanche Speargun is very easy to use making it a perfect first speargun for beginners.
An excellent product that lives up to the hype and makes your spearfishing experience that much better.
